Art Literacy!
The school art program LOVED by the students !
This interactive program introduces children to the appreciation and enjoyment of art by exposing them to a diverse range of artists and mediums, including paint, pastels, clay, graphite, and mixed media. Like math or science, art literacy is a skill that develops year after year, enhancing students’ ability to express themselves their own artistic creations – all while having a lot of fun!
Art Lit is a wonderful program that the Tigard-Tualatin School District has provided to all elementary schools for more than 20 years. Click here to see the District mission and vision for the program.
Our PSO generously funds the lessons and project materials.
Do you want to be an Art Lit Volunteer?
No prior art or teaching experience is required to become an Art Lit volunteer!
Art Lit is entirely volunteer led. Parents, just like you, volunteer to deliver five prepared lessons and art projects from October to May.
If you’re interested in volunteering for Art Literacy at the class or committee level, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact areartlit@gmail.com for more information.
